This blog is an experiment, a collection of essais, or attempts, in Michel de Montaigne's sense. He used the word to mean something you try out, not something you've finished. That spirit feels right for what I'd like to do here.
I'll be writing about AI, software, science, math, and whatever else I find myself thinking about. These are ideas that don't fit neatly into academic papers, which demand more formality and certainty than I usually have, or social media posts, which have their own ephemerality and distinct conventions. Both can often be performative, which is something I'll try to avoid as well.
My goal is simply to think through something interesting, write it down with some care, and share it in case it resonates with you. I'm not trying to build an audience or answer anything authoritatively. Rather, I'm trying to explore, and share what I find.
